About me
DEER FOREST is my way of life
I came to this realization gradually, after discovering silk. I was fascinated by silk’s incredible, almost magical qualities – its lightness and the way it absorbs dyes, creating the most unexpected patterns.
Everyone knows that:
- Sleeping on a silk pillowcase rejuvenates the skin and improves hair texture.
- Wearing silk clothing benefits and renews the skin all over the body!
Silk:
- Keeps you warm when it’s cold and cool when it’s hot.
- Adapts like a second skin – you barely feel it, it doesn’t stick when warm, it wicks away sweat, and it never feels uncomfortable.
- Highly recommended for people with skin conditions – it works better than creams.
Why not linen?
Many people ask why I don’t work with linen. While it’s a beautiful fabric, I find it too rough.
“Peasants wore linen – nobility wore silk.”
That thought makes me feel deeply connected to this noble material.
Before my journey with silk, I worked with wool. While wool and silk might seem different at first, they have a lot in common:
- Both are animal-based fibers.
- You can use the same care products for both.
But silk won me over – especially because of its dyeing potential.
Dyeing silk: a unique process
There are countless ways to dye silk, but I chose to work with a unique technique called medium printing.
This method combines dyes with natural plants:
- Dried plants, soaked in natural dyes, are placed on top of the silk.
- Silk dyes are applied with a brush, creating nature-inspired patterns.
- The fabric is then steamed at high temperature, fixing the dyes and allowing the plant tannins to absorb.
The plant’s imprint depends on when and where it was picked.
For example, a maple leaf in June will leave a different imprint than one in September.
Design philosophy
“Perfection lies in simplicity.”
- Silk flutters in the wind and allows freedom of movement.
- The beauty of the print is at the heart of my work.
- Although I consider seasonal colors and trends, I don’t strictly follow them.
Slow fashion: Each garment is handmade and carefully inspected. I often work on custom orders based on the client’s chosen color palette and silhouette.
Silk clothing – for everyday and special occasions
The silk garments I create are suitable for:
- Special events
- Everyday wear
It’s up to you how you wear it. Some save it for special moments, others wear it daily for comfort. I design for women who:
- Love themselves
- Understand the value and benefits of silk clothing
Nature as inspiration
Nature is my greatest source of creativity:
- The peace of the forest and sea fills my mind with ideas.
- I also enjoy observing people – watching passersby and their outfit combinations over a cup of coffee.
“When people ask if I ever run out of ideas, I say I have enough for several lifetimes.”
Stay tuned for new creations!
